GREENCASTLE, IN- The #9 UIndy Greyhound men's tennis team swept DePauw Wednesday evening, posting a 9-0 score against the Tigers to give their head coach,
Malik Tabet, his 100th win at the helm of the UIndy men's program.
Tabet, in his seventh year leading both the men's and women's tennis programs at UIndy, has posted a record of 100-27 on the men's side, including a 31-3 record in GLVC matches. Tabet's Hounds have not lost a conference match since 2013, his first year leading the program.
The Greyhounds (3-0) swept all nine contested matches, with
Nils Hoffacker and
Ariel Farji notching the first point at three doubles with an 8-1 score.
Matej Kostadinov and
Dario Huber then took one doubles 8-3, with
Renato Lima and
Magnus Mueller following with an 8-4 score in the two spot.
Hoffacker was the first to finish his singles match, taking a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Lima came in second at one singles, with a 6-3, 6-1 win to clinch the Greyhound win. Huber then added a 6-4, 6-2 win at three singles, followed by Farji taking a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Kostadinov closed out his five singles match 6-2, 6-0, and
Maximilian Witthaus completed the Greyhound sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the six singles spot.
UIndy heads to Lexington, Ky. for a match with Tusculum Friday afternoon, before facing off with crosstown Butler Monday.
