LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The UIndy men's basketball team (17-8, 10-5 GLVC) trailed by just six at halftime, but No. 9 Bellarmine (21-3, 12-3 GLVC) pulled away in the second half to avenge its loss to the Hounds 12 days ago, 96-66.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jesse Kempson already had 15 points at halftime, shooting six-of-eight from the field, including two from deep. Despite the Knights out-scoring the Greyhounds in the paint, 30-8, the visitors nailed seven-of-14 from 3-point range to trail 41-35 at the break.

Bellarmine heated from deep in the second half, hitting six of its first seven attempts to stretch the lead to 20 points. Turnovers played a key role, as UIndy handed the ball over 18 times compared to Bellarmine's six. The Greyhounds were unable to ever get the deficit back to below 20, despite Kempson's double-double effort.

Marcus Latham and
Miles Wayer also finished in double figures with 12 points apiece.

Kempson finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, recording his sixth double-double of the season.

Wayer drilled four 3-pointers on Thursday, his second-most in a game this season. The junior sunk five from deep against Olivet Nazarene back on December 4.

Latham tallied the first five points of the game for the Greyhounds before finishing with 12, marking the 13th time this season the Alton, Ill. product has reached double figures.

The Hounds will travel to Southern Indiana on Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. tip. The Screaming Eagles ranked fifth in the regional rankings that were released on Wednesday, just one spot ahead of the Greyhounds.
