#10 Greyhounds take down another DI foe

BOWLING GREEN, OH – Currently running on a five-match win-streak, the #10 Greyhounds tested their skills again in DI opponent Bowling Green State on Saturday. Traveling to the neighboring state, Indianapolis extended their streak to six wins on a 5-2 victory.

The women had a terrific duel in the doubles matches, winning two out of the three. The #4 team of Nikol Alexeeva and Anya Novikova fell short in the first match to conclude, ending on a score of 4-6. The Greyhounds' #16 squad of Hanna Volikova and Maja Pindelska were the first Greyhound duo to become victorious, ending their match 6-3. The final doubles match ended on a final score of 6-2, as Alina Kislitskaya and Anna Valiaeva emerged victorious. After doubles, the Greyhounds led the Falcons 1-0.

Singles worked just as well for the Greyhounds, swiping four of the six matches in their favor. Kislitskaya was the first Indianapolis competitor to finish, slamming her counterpart 6-3, 6-0. Winning next on a score of 6-4, 6-0 was Valiaeva for the Hounds. A third straight singles victory came from #4 Volikova, asserting her dominance again with a 6-2, 6-4 win. #19 Alexeeva was the final Greyhound to secure a win in singles, ending with a comeback stat line of 4-6, 6-3, (10-3). In a thrilling matchup, Pindelska couldn't pull through on a victory with her score of 7-6 (5), 1-3, retired. The final singles match didn't end well for Indianapolis, but was just as exciting to watch, as Novikova came up short 7-6 (5), 7-5, (6-10).

Providing some tough matches, the Greyhounds will come back to Indiana excited to continue the young season. Their next matchup will feature another DI foe in Ball State, where the Greyhounds will once again test their skills. That matchup will take place in Muncie, Indiana on Sunday, commencing at 4:30 PM.
