MUNCIE, IN- The #10 UIndy Greyhounds stood up to their final NCAA Division I opponent of the season Sunday afternoon, downing Ball State 4-3. The win marks the seventh of the year for the UIndy program, five of which have come against Division I foes.
In doubles action, host BSU took wins at the two and three spot to capture the doubles point, but the Greyhounds did take a 6-3 win from
Nikol Alexeeva and
Anya Novikova in the one doubles spot.
#4 Hanna Voikova took a 6-2, 6-2 win at one singles, while Alexeeva took a 6-3, 6-3 win in the two singles spot.
After the Cardinals took wins at three and four singels, Valiaeva knotted the team score at 3-3 with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win at six singles, and the Greyhound win was iced with a three-set marathon (7-5, 5-7, 7-5) win from newly-returned Kistlitkaya in the five singles spot.
UIndy heads into exclusively DII competition for the rest of the season, starting with a Saturday/Sunday matchup with Northwest Missouri State and Drury next weekend.
