UIndy Greyhounds (15-5, 8-2 GLVC) vs. #3 Bellarmine Knights (18-1, 9-1 GLVC)
Saturday, Feb. 9, 7:30 p.m. ET

ON TAP
The UIndy men's basketball team begins what will be a tough week ahead with two of the GLVC's best programs visiting Nicoson Hall.

No. 3 Bellarmine travels to the Circle City on Saturday for Pack the House, but not before Southern Indiana - who snapped Bellarmine's 65-game home winning streak last Saturday - takes on the Greyhounds on Thursday evening.

ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA
The Screaming Eagles have been to Nicoson Hall once this season, defeating Lake Superior State, 110-88, on November 23. Alex Stein dropped 48 points in the win as Southern Indiana cruised to its third win of the season.

Southern Indiana sports a 15-5 record this season with a 7-3 mark inside GLVC action. Before knocking off then-top-ranked Bellarmine last weekend, the Screaming Eagles fell at home to Drury, 76-72. Southern Indiana is 8-2 away from Evansville this season and 4-1 in true road games.

Stein leads the Screaming Eagles in scoring with 20.4 points per contest, while also averaging 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. Indianapolis native Emmanuel Little is grabbing 7.9 boards per game for Southern Indiana, while scoring 11.2 points each contest. Kobe Caldwell is nearly averaging 14 points per game, while Mateo Rivera leads the team with 3.9 assists per contest.

UIndy head coach Stan Gouard was named the National Player of the Year in 1995, leading Southern Indiana to the NCAA Division II national title.

Head coach Rodney Watson is in his ninth season at Southern Indiana, where he has won 218 games as leader of the Screaming Eagles.

ABOUT BELLARMINE
Consistently one of the best teams in the country, Bellarmine is 18-1 this season and ranked third in NCAA Division II. Prior to their loss last Saturday to Southern Indiana, the Knights topped both the NABC and D2SIDA top-25 poll. In this week's respective editions, Bellarmine ranks third in both polls.

The Knights joined UIndy in University Center, Mich. to begin the 2018-19 campaign, picking up wins over Northwood and Saginaw Valley State. Bellarmine has also defeated in-region Kentucky Wesleyan, Northern Michigan, and Wayne State this season.

Two-time All-American Adam Eberhard is on a tear his senior season, shooting 56.8 percent from the field and 86.2 percent from the charity stripe for 20.2 points per game. The Evansville, Ind. native is also grabbing 5.5 rebounds and dishing out 4.6 assists per game this season. Chivarsky Corbett leads the team on the glass with 6.7 boards per game, while scoring 12.9 points. Ben Weyer and Alex Cook are also averaging double figures for the GLVC-leading Knights.

Head coach Scott Davenport is in his 14th season in Louisville. The Knights claimed the 2011 NCAA Division II national title under Davenport.

KING JIMMY
For the first time in his career, Jimmy King earned the weekly honor for his efforts in consecutive Greyhound wins last weekend at McKendree and Illinois Springfield.

Against McKendree, the redshirt-junior went for 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting while also dishing out six assists in the team's 86-62 win. Two days laster, King went for a season-high 25 points against UIS while filling up the stat sheet. The Roncalli grad logged 36 minutes, finishing with 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out seven helpers on the afternoon.

King and CJ Hardaway are the first UIndy teammates to win back-to-back player of the week honors since Joe Lawson and Lucas Barker won consecutive honors in January 2015.

MOUNT POLAKOVICH
Last Thursday at McKendree, freshman Jacob Polakovich recorded his first-career double-double against the Bearcats. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native secured 11 rebounds to go with his 10 points in the win, while he recorded a season-high 18 minutes on the floor.

TWO HUNDRED AND COUNTING
Head coach Stan Gouard reached 200 career wins with the Greyhounds' victory at Illinois Springfield last Saturday. Gouard is just the second coach in program history to win at least 200 games, with Angus Nicoson totaling 483 victories in his tenure.

This marks Gouard's 11th season at the helm of the program, making him the third-longest-tenured coach in program history. Good mentored for 15 seasons, while Nicoson coached the Hounds for more than 29 years.

RINSE, LATHAM, REPEAT
Junior transfer Marcus Latham has taken full advantage of five straight starts, averaging 20.4 points over the five Greyhound wins. The Alton, Ill. native has increased his season-best point total each of the past five games, ranging from 18 at Missouri S&T to his 24 at Illinois Springfield last Saturday. Latham went a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe against the Prairie Stars.

LAST TIME OUT
Behind a career day from junior point guard Jimmy King, the Greyhounds made the requisite plays down the stretch to pull away from the Prairie Stars. Leading by two with nine minutes to go, the Hounds orchestrated a fatal 15-6 run to earn a late double-digit advantage. King and Trevor Lakes each sank a three during the surge, two of five 3-pointers for the Hounds in the second half.

King racked up a career-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting, while stuffing the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists and a block. Junior Marcus Latham also set a career high in scoring with 24 points, including a perfect 10-for-10 performance at the foul line.

Senior Jesse Kempson flirted with a double-double, recording 11 points and eight boards, while Lakes drained three triples – all in the second half – to also finish with 11 points.

Not lost in the action was Gouard's millstone coaching win. He becomes just the second men's basketball coach to reach 200 wins at UIndy, as he trails only Angus Nicoson (483 wins) on the program's all-time list.

UIndy is now 9-1 all-time versus UIS since first hooking up in 2004. Saturday's result also upped the Hounds' GLVC road record to a 4-1 on the season.

MICHIGAN MEN
The UIndy men's basketball team is 4-0 this season against teams from the state of Michigan. After opening the season with triumphs over Northwood and Saginaw Valley, the Hounds toppled Grand Valley State in Allendale before downing Lake Superior State in overtime at Nicoson Hall on November 21.

The four wins over teams from Michigan is the most in program history against the state. The GLIAC schools have combined to go 40-42 so far this season, with all but Saginaw Valley winning double-digit games through February 2.

HOMEGROWN HOUNDS
UIndy has seven players from the Indianapolis area, including three from within the city limits: CJ Hardaway (Warren Central), Jesse Kempson (Heritage Christian), and Jimmy King (Roncali). Hardaway and Kempson are two leading returners for the Greyhounds this season, combining for 20.9 points, 9.7 boards, and 3.4 assists per game a year ago. King returns for his redshirt-junior campaign after taking a medical redshirt last season.
