INDIANAPOLIS – As announced Thursday, UIndy senior
Katharina Keilich was voted the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week, earning the spring's first weekly award from the conference. The release marks the first weekly honor from Keilich this season and fifth of her career.
Â
Keilich recently placed sixth overall at the loaded Fujikura Invitational, held at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, Calif., last week. In an event that featured six of the seven top-ranked teams in Division II, the Wetzlar, Germany native fired a one-under 71 in the final round, vaulting nine spots into the top 10. She recorded four birdies on the final day, including three on par-4 holes, and finished at +2 for the tournament.
Â
Keilich's award is the fifth weekly GLVC honor handed out to the Greyhounds this season. Junior
Pilar Echeverria won it three times in the fall, while senior
Kennedy Holtsclaw captured it once.
