Coach Tabet grasps 100th win on Senior Night vs Bellarmine

INDIANAPOLIS – In a poetic performance, UIndy's men's and women's tennis teams celebrated senior night victories alongside head coach Malik Tabet's 100th victory for the women. Coach Tabet's all-time record is 100-36 for the women, along with continuing the longest ever win streak at 15 consecutive matches. Tabet has collected 100 or more wins for both the men and women, as the men won number 100 versus DePauw back on February 13th. The #3 Greyhounds moved up to 2-0 in the GLVC on Saturday, sweeping Bellarmine on a score of 7-0.

Indianapolis was able to win all three doubles matches against the Knights. Maja Pindelska and Anna Valiaeva were the first to complete their match, winning on a final score of 6-1. Alina Kislitskaya and the Greyhounds' lone senior, Hanna Volikova, were able to garner a win as well, finishing 6-4. The #10 squad of Nikol Alexeeva and Anya Novikova also emerged victorious, giving the Greyhounds their first team point on a final score of 6-4.

#18 Alexeeva was the first Greyhound to collect a win in singles, sweeping her opponent on a score of 6-0, 6-0. That wasn't the only sweep the Greyhounds had in singles, as Novikova completed the task in her match as well. #5 Volikova dominated her matchup, just missing a sweep on a score of 6-1, 6-0. The next match to conclude was Kislitskaya, who took down her competitor on a score of 6-0, 6-1. Valiaeva didn't let up on her opponent either, thrashing down a 6-1, 6-0 final score. The final match to conclude was Pindelska, who matched up against a tough Knight opponent. Pindelska was able to finish on top, securing the Greyhound sweep on her 6-3, 6-4 final result.

With only a handful of matches left until the GLVC Championships, the Greyhounds will look to continue their winning streak later next week. Indianapolis will travel to Illinois to take on Illinois Springfield, another GLVC foe. That match will kick off at 2 P.M.
