ROLLA, Mo. – The No. 20 UIndy softball team (26-8) upped its winning streak to six with a doubleheader sweep at Missouri S&T Sunday afternoon, downing the host Miners by scores of 10-1 and 5-3.

After homering in both ends of the doubleheader versus Lake Erie last Wednesday, Iannantone extended her power streak with a three-run bomb in the third inning. A
Taylor Danielson home run in the second had already staked the Hounds to a 2-0 lead, but Iannantone's blast helped blow it open for the visitors.
Â
Kamrie Foster added an RBI single in the fourth inning,
Shannon Schuetz smoked a two-run double in the fifth while Danielson (sac fly) and Â
Brooke Montgomery (single) tacked RBIs in the seventh.

Sophomore
Halie Waters upped her pitching record to 13-4 with the win. She gave up four hits, one walk and one run in five innings of work.
Katelyn Fisher finished the job, allowing just one hit in two scoreless innings.

The Hounds stifled a late rally by the Miners. Up 5-2 heading into the seventh, starter
Lauren Honkomp gave up a leadoff single and Coach
Melissa Frost went back to Waters. The sophomore hurler would eventually surrender a bases-loaded walk, but later coaxed a game-ending double play to secure Honkomp's win and a save for herself.
Â
UIndy jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and never trailed.
Taylor Podschweit's first inning double – one of three RBI doubles for the Hounds in the game – gave UIndy a lead it would ultimately not relinquish.
Sydnie Foster compiled three hits in the capper, while Iannantone had two more RBIs to finish the day with five ribbies.
Honkomp (11-3) finished with a line of seven hits, three walks, three runs and four strikeouts in six-plus innings.
