INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy student-athlete
Pilar Echeverria added to an already crowded trophy case Thursday, collecting her fifth GLVC weekly award of the season and 13th of her career – both good for conference records. The junior garnered the current GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week award after taking medalist honors at the 104-woman NC4K Classic earlier this week.
Â
A native of Guatemala, Echeverria finished at -1 with a scores of 72-71 to win her fourth individual medal and seventh top-five performance in nine events on the season. She helped the Hounds overcome a five-stroke deficit after 18 holes to win the team title by nine shots among the mostly-Midwest-Region field.
Â
Echeverria and her teammates next compete at the Ohio State Lady Buckeye Invitational April 13-14 before the postseason begins with the GLVC Championships later this month.
