INDIANAPOLIS- The #1 seed from the East UIndy Greyhounds advanced to the GLVC Men's Tennis Championship semifinal with a 4-0 win over four-seed Rockhurst Friday afternoon aat the UIndy Tennis Center.
The Greyhounds (13-5) took the doubles point behind wins at three and two doubles, with the duo of
Nils Hoffacker and
Maximilian Witthaus coming through with the first victory, 6-1, at three doubles. After the Hounds dropped the one doubles match,
Magnus Mueller and
Renato Lima claimed the doubles point for UIndy with a 6-2 win in the two spot.
Hoffacker took a 6-1, 6-1 win at two singles to run the score to 2-0 Greyhounds, with Lima coming in with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the one singles spot soon after. The match was clinched with a three-set win from
Dario Huber, who won a 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 marathon match to send UIndy to back to the GLVC Men's Tennis Championship semifinal.
The #24 Greyhounds will face off with #2W Missouri-St. Louis, who defeated UIS 4-2. The match will take place at the UIndy Tennis Center at 1 p.m. Saturday.
