4-0 shutout of UMSL sends #24 men's tennis to GLVC championship

INDIANAPOLIS- The defending GLVC Men's Tennis Champions will return to the GLVC finale, with #24 UIndy defeating Missouri-St. Louis 4-0 in semifinal action at the UIndy Tennis Center Saturday.

The Greyhounds (14-5) have won the last three GLVC championships, and have made an appearance in the GLVC championship match now for six years straight. Overall, UIndy has won a league-besst 10 GLVC championships.

Nils Hoffacker and Ariel Farji were 6-1 winners at three doubles, with Renato Lima and Magnus Mueller taking a 6-4 win  to secure the doubles point for UIndy. 

Hoffacker continued his dominance and quick work on the singles court, taking a 6-4, 6-0 win playing two. Dario Huber came away with a 6-3, 6-4 win at three singles to put the Hounds ahead 3-0, and Renato Lima clinched the Greyhounds' third-straight shutout with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win at one singles.

The Greyhound men will play at 2:30 p.m. outdoors at Center Grove High School, with the UIndy women playing in the women's championship at 11 a.m. UIndy will face Drury in the final, with the Greyhounds and Panthers meeting in each of the last three GLVC championship matches.
