Sophomore
Halie Waters (19-6) whirled her second consecutive two-hit shutout. The Boonville, Ind., native, who also blanked McKendree yesterday, struck out seven and walked three to get the win.

The Greyhounds scored both their runs in the second inning. Sophomores
Gianni Iannantone and
Haylie Foster led off the frame with back-to-back singles and would later come around to score on an RBI groundout by
Taylor Danielson and an infield single by
Brooke Montgomery, respectively. Foster and Montgomery each finished with two hits.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the sixth inning, Danielson found the right-center gap, plating Foster with a clutch double. Neither team would score again until the bottom of the ninth, when a leadoff walk proved fatal after the Stars eventually pushed across the game winner on a sacrifice fly. The run ended a 23-inning scoreless streak for Waters (19-7), who came on in relief in the sixth.

Junior
Lauren Honkomp got the start, tossing 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball before yielding to Waters. At the plate, senior
Shannon Schuetz recorded a single and two walks, while Iannantone, Montgomery and
Taylor Podschweit each chipped in a double.
