INDIANAPOLIS – The defending-national-champion UIndy women's golf team debuted at No. 1 in the East in the season's first set of NCAA Division II regional rankings, released Thursday.
The 12-team regional will be held at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky., May 6-8 – one of four regionals being conducted that weekend. The participants will compete through 54 holes of competition, with the top three teams along with the top three individuals not with an advancing team moving on to the national championships.
UIndy is on track for its 13th consecutive NCAA berth. The Hounds are in the midst of a dominating streak of seven consecutive regional championships. At
last year's regional, the Hounds erased a three-stroke deficit in the final round, leapfrogging runner-up Grand Valley State. UIndy went on to capture the
2018 NCAA Division II title, its second national championship in the last four years.
