SPRINGFIELD, Ill.- The UIndy men's tennis squad (10-5) improved to 3-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action with a 7-0 sweep of Illinois Springfield Friday.
Renato Lima and
Magnus Mueller were the first Greyhounds to take a W, with a 6-1 win at two doubles.
Nils Hoffacker and Max Witthaus locked up the doubles point with a 6-1 win in the three doubles spot, while #16
Dario Huber and
Matej Kostadinov completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win in the one doubles spot.
#31 Hoffacker was the first to notch a point in singles play, with a 7-5, 6-2 win playing at #1 singles. Mueller was the next to finish, taking a 6-3, 7-5 win at three singles. Huber clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7), win at two singles.
Ariel Farji took the next UIndy point in the four singles spot with a 6-2, 7-5 win, while Kostadinov posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at five singles. Witthaus closed out the 7-0 Greyhound win with a 6-4, 6-2 win at six singles.
UIndy continues on in GLVC play Saturday, with a match at Lewis. First serve is slated for 12 p.m. EST from Romeoville, Ill.  Â
