UIndy Claims Eighth Straight GLVC All-Sports Trophy

INDIANAPOLIS – For a conference-record eighth consecutive year, the University of Indianapolis will be hanging on to the coveted Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy. UIndy totaled 193.5 points to capture the trophy for the 11th time overall. The annual honor is presented to the institution that demonstrates the best all-around performance in the league's 22 sponsored sports. Points are allocated based on overall finish in the league standings and at the respective sport's conference tournament.

On the strength of a league-record nine GLVC titles in 2018-19, UIndy took the top spot by a comfortable 47.5 points over runner-up Bellarmine (146 pts). The Greyhounds earned first-place points in women's cross country, football, men's swimming & diving, men' indoor and outdoor track & field, both men's and women's tennis, men's lacrosse and women's golf. Additionally, the Hounds posted runner-up finishes in men's golf, women's indoor and outdoor track & field, women's swimming & diving, wrestling and softball.

UIndy's eight straight all-sports title sets a new conference record for most consecutive years winning the award, first given out in 1978-79. Seven different schools have claimed the GLVC All-Sports Trophy through the years, with only Lewis (13), UIndy (11), Southern Indiana (4), Bellarmine (3) and Drury (1) still current members.
