Holtsclaw Garners Prestigious Elite 90 Award

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – UIndy senior Kennedy Holtsclaw was named the recipient of the Elite 90 award at the 2019 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships Tuesday night. The honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

Founded by the NCAA in 2009, the Elite 90 recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

Holtsclaw compiled a sparkling 3.992 cumulative GPA at a student-athlete at UIndy, earning a bachelor's in Human Resource Management. She is the fifth overall Greyhound and fourth UIndy women's golfer to receive the Elite 90 Award. Originally called the Elite 88, the honor was presented to former UIndy volleyball All-American Kyleigh Turner in December of 2009, and was later earned by Greyhound golfers Allison Tyler (May of 2010), Jenny Konop (May of 2012) and Annika Haynes (May of 2018).

Meanwhile, the Greyhounds begin play at this year's championships Tuesday morning starting a 9 a.m. ET. Click here for more information.
