KINGSVILLE, Texas – The UIndy track & field program put a bow on the season Saturday, competing at the final day of the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Greyhounds combined for three All-America honors at the three-day meet, placing the men 43rd in the team standings and the women 53rd. The national meet was held at Javelina Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M University Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas.

Seniors Hogan, Monk, Paxson and Wenzel all competed for the final time for UIndy. Hogan, in particular, will go down as one of the best athletes to wear the Crimson and Grey. His two top-eight finishes this week bring his career total of All-America honors to seven (indoor and outdoor). He is now the program's all-time leader in throwing All-America awards as well as overall individual All-America accolades.
SATURDAY
Five Greyhounds were in action on the final day, including first-time NCAA Championships participants Â

Lauren Bailey and
Mary Costello.

Wenzel (left) took the track for the 1500-meter finals Saturday evening. After coming in with the 19th-fastest time in Division II, the senior from Francesville, Ind., finished 12th in her last collegiate race, posting a time of 4:48.89.

Bailey, meanwhile, ran the 5000 meters a few hours later. The sophomore finished in 17:42.01, good for 12th among the nation's best.

Also just a sophomore, Costello cleared 3.68 meters in her very first vault at Nationals. She would not get any higher, however, tying for 15th place.

A pair NCAA veterans were also in action, as both
Katie Monk and
Austin Hogan competed in the shot put. Monk hit a mark of 14.62 meters to take 12th place among the women, while Hogan finished 14th in the men's standings at 17.55 meters.
FRIDAY
The Championships continued Friday, with senior
Austin Hogan picking up his second All-America award in as many days.

Twenty-four hours after placing seventh in the hammer throw, Hogan garnered his second All-America nod of the meet with a top-eight performance in the discus. The hometown product managed a toss of 53.91 meters, good for sixth place. He becomes the first-ever four-time All-American in the event in UIndy men's track & field history.

Katie Monk also competed in the discus. The standout senior thrower placed 12th with a throw of 46.69 meters.
THURSDAY
The 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships kicked off Thursday with the first of three days of action. Four Greyhounds competed on day one, with
Austin Hogan and
Katie Monk earning All-America honors.

Monk started things off with a top-eight performance in the women's hammer throw. Competing in her final collegiate meet, the senior thrower used a 55.72-meter throw to place sixth among DII's best, good for her first outdoor All-America honor.

Hogan, meanwhile, took on the best in the country in the men's hammer throw. His second throw of 60.91 meters proved to be his longest, placing him seventh overall. He is now a four-time All-American at outdoor nationals, with this being his first in the hammer.

Senior
Mickayla Wenzel opened her Nationals debut with a successful go in the 1500 meters preliminaries. She posted a time of 4:35.70 to put her in Saturday's 12-woman final.

Additionally, senior
Hilary Paxson finished 12th in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 52.75.
