INDIANAPOLIS— The University of Indianapolis track and field squad earned seven provisional marks as they split their weekend at the Marian Knight Open in Indianapolis and the Wash U Distance Carnival in St. Louis.
WASH U DISTANCE CARNIVAL
The Midwest Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, Josue Le Cadre, broke his own school record in the men's 1,500m with a winning time of 3:45.01 in St. Louis.
Finishing just behind Le Cadre, junior Felix Rivet clocked a provisional time of 3.45.20 for a second-place finish. Rivet took third in the 3,000 steeple, but currently leads the division in the event with a time of 8:48.61.
Yanis Le Mouillour was the third athlete to earn a provisional mark for the Greyhounds at the Wash U Distance Carnival, taking third in the men's 800m with a time of 1:48.87.
MARIAN KNIGHT OPEN
Vivian Osagie took first in the women's discus, four meters ahead of the rest of the competition, with a provisional toss of 52.44m. Her winning throw places her third on the national list.
Junior Amanda Noel also hit the provisional standard in the women's discus with her toss of 46.95m for nearly a four-meter personal record.
Mackenzie VanBibber took first in the women's pole vault with nine centimeters of separation between her and the rest of the competition. The senior currently ranks 12th in Division II after the first two weeks of the outdoor season.
