NEW ORLEANS— University of Indianapolis sophomore Vivian Osagie was named the Midwest Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday. The Reggio Emelia, Italy native is the first outdoor Midwest Field Athlete of the year for the Hounds since Zoe Pentecost in the 2024 outdoor season.Â

Osagie earned two First-Team All-America honors in throwing events at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, placing third in the discus and fourth in the shot put. Earlier in the season, she won both the discus and shot put at the GLVC Championships.
