Le Cadre Claims Third NCAA Title, Three More Hounds Earn All-America Status on Day Three of NCAAs

EMPORIA, Kan.— The UIndy Track and Field squad concluded its 2026 campaign at the NCAA DII Championships at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, highlighted by two more individual NCAA titles courtesy of juniors Alex Meyer and Josue Le Cadre in the men's high jump and 800m, respectively. The men's squad earned their first top-ten finish at an NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, placing ninth with 34 total points, while the women finished 26th with 11.2 points. 

After posting the fourth-fastest time in Friday's preliminary round, Le Cadre, the DII recordholder in the event, claimed his third national title in the 800m.  The Nantes, France native clocked a new facility record of 1:46.02 at Welch Stadium, to join Alex Meyer and Randy Heisler as the only Greyhounds to collect three individual NCAA DII titles. 

After just falling short of making the 800m finals in the 2026 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Yanis Le Mouillour joined Le Cadre on the podium, finishing second. The junior ran a personal best of 1:47.10 to earn his silver medal and first individual All-America honor.

Vivian Osagie began the day for the Crimson & Grey, adding a third All-America honor to her resume. The sophomore saw her second-best mark of the outdoor season with her third attempt of 15.82 to put her fourth in the 22-competitor field. All three of Osagie's marked throws were 15m or further for the first time this season.

Francesca Maurino easily cleared the opening two bars in the women's high jump. The junior cleared both 1.62m and 1.67m on her first attempt, before falling out of the competition at the next height. Maurino was one of five to clear the opening two heights on their first attempts, putting her in a five-way tie for the eighth-place spot on the podium, to earn her second All-America honor in the high jump. 

FRIDAY
Vivian Osagie started the day off for the Hound in the women's discus throw. The Reggio Emelia, Italy native opened the competition with her best discus mark since March, with a toss of 52.12m. Osagie's opening mark allowed her to remain in the top three through the remainder of the competition. The sophomore earns her second All-America honor of the year with her third-place finish, after finishing sixth in the shot put at the 2026 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field National Championships. 

The Hounds started and ended their day with bronze medals as junior Felix Rivet clocked an  8:51.45 in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. In Friday's performance, Rivet finished a whopping 15 spots higher than he did in the 2025 Outdoor Championships, beating his time from last season by over 37 seconds. 

In her first triple jump competition on the national stage, Francesca Maruino jumped her way to 16th in the field of 22. The junior's best attempt came on her first jump with a mark of 11.95m. Maruino will return for the women's high jump competition on Saturday, where she enters ranked sixth in the field of 22. 

The French duo of Josue Le Cadre and Yanis Le Mouillour both punched their ticket to Saturday's 800m finals after Friday's preliminary round. Le Mouillour earned the automatic bid from the first heat of prelims after finishing second with a time of 1:48.66. Le Cadre finished first in the third heat to earn the automatic advancement to the finals with a time of 1:48.90. Le Cadre and Le Mouillour will take lanes four and five in Saturday's finals. 

FRIDAY
Meyer's opening jump of 7.55m put him in third in the competition following the first full round of the second flight. Meyer used his second jump of 7.70m, the same distance that gave him his first National Title, to move him into the top spot. The Angola, Ind. native surpassed his lead mark on his fifth attempt with a leap of 7.78m, placing him 16cm ahead of the rest of the field. 

Mackenzie VanBibber outperformed her seeding, moving up from a projected 17th to a 12th-place finish. VanBibber easily cleared the opening two bars, earning her a spot in the top-15 after clearing 3.80m. 

In the 3,000m steeplechase preliminary round, Felix Rivet earned the automatic bid to Friday's final, finishing second in his heat with a time of 8:54.26.
