Women’s Golf Leads NCAA Regional Through Day 1

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The UIndy women's golf team had a good start to the 2019 NCAA East Super Regional Monday. With all five student-athletes positioned in the top 20, the Greyhounds finished the opening round with a team score of 292 to lead the field by seven strokes. The 54-hole event is being held at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky. The Hounds are the seven-time defending regional champions.
 
Junior Pilar Echeverria and sophomore Anna Kramer led the way, as each carded an even-par 72 to finish one back of leader Katie Chapman of Grand Valley State. Freshman Cailyn Henderson (+1) is tied for fourth, while senior Katharina Keilich (+3) also found herself in the top 10, sharing seventh place with six other golfers. Senior Kennedy Holtsclaw concluded the round at +5 to tie for 18th.
