INDIANAPOLIS- For the sixth year in a row, the UIndy men's tennis team is headed to the NCAA Division II Regionals, announced Tuesday evening on NCAA.com.
The Greyhounds (15-5) earned the right to host the Midwest Regional for the fourth year in a row, and will do so at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Ind. UIndy, which moved up to #19 in the ITA NCAA Division II Team Rankings this week, is the top seed in the event and will open the NCAA postseason against eight-seed Missouri-St. Louis. The Greyhounds and Tritons last met in the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals, where UIndy blanked UMSL 4-0 en route to the 2019 GLVC Men's Tennis Championship.
UIndy won the NCAA Regional it hosted a season ago, starting a historic run to the National Semifinals. The other Regional semifinal matchup is #4 seed Ferris State versus #5 seed Lewis. At the second Midwest Regional site, hosted by #2 Wayne State, the host Warriors will face off with seven-seed Grand Valley State and #3 seed Drury will play #6 seed Northwood.
The 16 winners in the Regional round will advance to the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships May 21-24, in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
