NORVOLK, Va. – Both UIndy swimming and diving teams picked up Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), announced Monday. They were two of a combined 135 Division II programs to earn the award, given to teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2019 spring semester.
The Greyhound women amassed a 3.69 GPA last semester, placing them sixth among the 83 women's teams honored. Meanwhile, the UIndy men's 3.45 GPA placed them fifth among 52 counterparts.
CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart noted: "Coach (Jason) Hite has revitalized the (UIndy) program in and out of the pool. It has been an exciting transformation to watch."
Bridgeport topped all DII men's teams this year with a 3.67 GPA, while Emmanuel led the Division II women with a 3.80.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
