TEMPE, Ariz.- Both the UIndy men's and women's tennis teams, along with 13 student-athletes, have earned distinction as All-Academic, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Thursday afternoon.

The UIndy women's squad posted a fall GPA of 3.68 and a spring of 3.66, with the fall number coming in second in the Greyhound athletic department and the spring total coming in tied for third overall. The men topped the department in the fall with a 3.80, while they matched the women's 3.66 in the spring.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year, which includes both the fall and spring semesters. 

Individually, seven women and six men were honored as ITA All-Academic. Nikol Alexeeva, Pam Brito Torres, Alina Kislitskaya, Anya Novikova, Anna Valiaeva, Hanna Volikova and Chloe Weihs represented the Greyhound women, while Ariel Farji, Nils Hoffacker, Dario Huber, Matej Kostadinov, Magnus Mueller and Renato Lima were the male Hounds honored. 

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
