FINDLAY, Ohio – The UIndy volleyball team (8-1) used a balanced effort on Saturday afternoon to down the Findlay Oilers (1-8) in straight sets.
Katie Furlong led the team with nine kills, while
Kyra Simmons contributed eight on .571 hitting.

The sweep marks the Greyhounds' first win over the Oilers since 2012, which also came in Findlay.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Furlong posted four of her kills in the opening frame, as the Greyhounds pulled away late to win, 25-17. The UIndy defense stood tall in the first set, limiting Findlay to -.065 hitting with five kills and seven attacking errors.

UIndy ran away with the second frame almost immediately, jumping out to a 5-0 lead on four Findlay errors. Simmons added to her kill total with three more in the set, including the frame-winning attack.

Grace Hegwood saw more action in the third set, finishing the match with five kills and two digs. The Oilers made a late push, but a
MaKenna Barnhart ace ended all hope to give the Greyhounds the sweep.

Jena Davis paced the back line with nine digs, as six Greyhounds tallied at least four scoops. Barnhart and
Gillian Santana each recorded eight in the win.
- Simmons has had the best weekend of her career thus far, adding eight more kills to her total of nine in the win over Tiffin last night. The freshman has raised her attack percentage to .268 this weekend with the .571 mark against Findlay.
