INDIANAPOLIS – Coming off a weekend when they tied McKendree and dropped a game at USI on the road, the UIndy women's soccer team was back in action Friday night at home. The Greyhounds were able to hold on to the lead they gained in the first half en route to topping preseason GLVC-favorite Truman, 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior
Laura Shake was between the pipes for the Hounds for the first time this season against the Bulldogs. Shake recorded three saves throughout the game for the Greyhounds, including one early on in the opening half. The Greyhounds came up empty on their first two shot attempts from
Kaylee Zimbelmann and
Lexi Turner. Their third attempt found the back of the net as Turner connected on a deep shot from nearly 30 yards out to give UIndy the 1-0 advantage.
Â
The Hounds did not place a shot on target in the second period, playing defense against the Bulldogs. The Greyhound defense came up big down the stretch, allowing only two Bulldogs shots on frame in the second half. Shake was able to save both times Truman was threatening in Greyhound territory, clinching the 1-0 win to send the Hounds to 2-1-1 in conference play and 4-1-1 overall.
