INDIANAPOLIS – In the final weekend of winter break, the Greyhound swimming & diving teams invited Davenport, Lindenwood and Grand Valley State for a Saturday clash between ranked teams on Senior Day. The No. 3 Indianapolis women took all three wins against No. 10 Lindenwood (216-83), No. 13 GVSU (220-80) and Davenport (246-54). The No. 2 men put on a show, as they took down No. 9 Lindenwood (212-88) and No. 10 GVSU (193-107).

Jason Hite. "There were some rough swims, but there were plenty of quality swims to make up for it in the end."
Payton Staman kicked off Senior Night for the Greyhounds with back-to-back wins for diving, as he topped the one-meter at 358.95 points and the three-meter with 336.25 points. The senior from Illinois led the field by over 48 points on one-meter, and 40 more points on three-meter.
Cassie Kury was the Greyhounds' leading diver on the women's side, as she totaled 265.80 points on the one-meter to claim the top spot. Kury also had a runner-up finish on the women's three-meter, earning 251.20 points in the process.
Between the two teams, the Greyhounds featured 19 different student-athletes that won events, while 11 of them won multiple within the lanes.
Edda Skoric totaled four wins out of four events on her Senior Day, as she took part in the women's 400 medley relay (3:51.92), 100 back (58.15), 200 back (2:04.87) and 200 free relay (1:30.33).
Jan Zuchowicz matched her on the men's side, as the junior claimed wins in all four events he swum. Zuchowicz was featured in the 400 medley relay (3:20.29), 100 breast (56.89), 200 breast (2:05.19) and the 200 free relay (1:23.36).
Senior
Darian Murray and junior
Marizel van Jaarsveld each recorded three wins for the women, as they were showcased in different events. Murray completed her last swims in Ruth Lilly with victories in the 400 medley relay, the 200 fly (2:06.46) and the 100 fly (57.59). Van Jaarsveld finished on top in the women's 200 breast (2:23.55), 200 IM (2:06.55) and the 200 free relay. Indianapolis featured four different student-athletes on the men's side with two wins, including newcomer
Andras Tiszai. The mid-year addition to the squad immediately showcased his impact, winning the men's 100 back (51.13) and 200 back (1:49.91).
"We have to keep moving forward, staying both focused and healthy," noted Hite, "We'll be ready to go for GLVCs with high energy, a great attitude, and overall smart swimming & diving."
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds have one more dual meet to go before the GLVC Championships, taking place in about two weeks. The teams will travel to Granville, Ohio to compete at Denison University on Jan. 24, kicking off the Friday meet at 5 p.m.
