INDIANAPOLIS- The UW-Parkside Rangers (4-5) took wins in the final three bouts of the night to take an 18-16 dual win over the host Greyhounds (5-6) in the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center Tuesday.
Ana Abduljelil (9-7) opened the night with a 4-1 win over Joe Arroyo at 125, but the Rangers tied the match at 3-3 with a victory at 133. After UW-Parkside also took the 141 bout,
Kyle Barkovich (12-6) retied the score at 6-6 with a 6-3 win over Nathan Hensley at 149.Â
Following an 18-0 tech fall by
Dawson Combest (14-3) over Subhan Umar at 157, the score stood UIndy 11, UW-Parkside 6. After an intermission that was prolonged by a fire alarm in the RLFC, the Rangers took four of the five final bouts to secure the win.
Gleason Mappes *-6) notched the final UIndy five points with a 20-5 tech fall over Edgar Heredia at 174.
The Greyhounds continue a three-dual homestand Friday, with Bellarmine coming to the RLFC for a Great Lakes Valley Conference dual at 7 PM. UIndy will welcome and honor all first responders at the intermission of the dual.
