Greyhounds Deal Panthers 39-Point Loss

INDIANAPOLIS – It was all Greyhounds on Thursday evening at Nicoson Hall, as the UIndy men's basketball team (13-4, 5-4 GLVC) cruised by the visiting Drury Panthers (11-6, 4-5 GLVC), 97-58.

The Greyhounds led by 15 at the halftime before exploding for 55 points in the second half to finish off the second-highest margin of victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Three Greyhounds finished with double figures in the opening 20 minutes, with Trevor Lakes finding the bottom of the nylon on each of his six field-goal attempts, including four triples. Lakes sparked a six-point Cory Miller Jr. at the 4:17 mark, with the latter capping the stretch with an and-1 free throw after a 3-pointer.

UIndy's lead was never in danger during the second half, with a pair of free throws from Demarre Sims moving it to 30 with under nine minutes remaining. Head coach Stan Gouard emptied the bench at the under-eight media timeout, as freshman Frankie Davidson scoring six points in 7:11 of playing time. Jaylin Chinn also poured in seven points with two boards and a pair of dime in eight minutes of action.

The Greyhounds shot 56.7 percent from the field in the win, while limiting the Panthers to just a 28.8 percent mark, including 12.5 percent from 3-point range.
