LEBANON, Ill. - The UIndy women's basketball team (1-3, 1-3 GLVC) took the road to McKendree (1-2, 1-2) on Saturday and claimed their first win of the year. The Greyhounds' field goal shooting was key in the matchup, resulting in a final score of 68-62.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With a 35-30 lead for the Greyhounds coming out of halftime, the Bearcats were able to keep the game within reach and even claim a lead with 2:20 left in the contest. But the Greyhounds responding by scoring 14 of the game's final 20 points, including a 6-for-6 effort from the foul line from senior Taylor Drury down the stretch to help ice it.

Sadie Hill was the key contributor, scoring all 16 in the second half on a stellar 8-of-9 shooting. Drury had her best game of the season so far, leading the way with 20 points for the Hounds with a pair of makes behind the arc.

The Greyhounds' ball distribution as also key, as they racked up 20 assists on their 26 makes, with six dimes coming from junior Mya Scheidt. She also chipped in a personal-high five rebounds, while Lauren With amssed nine points and three steals.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-UIndy led by 10 late in the third quarter before the Bearcats made a run.
-Hill needed just 17 minutes played to hit her tally of 16 points, as the Murray State transfer battled foul trouble in the first half. She also added five boards and a block.
-The Greyhounds' 59 percent shooting was the highest mark for the team since Nov 25, 2018 versus Tiffin.

HOUND BYTES
Head coach Kristin Wodrich on the team's composure...
"We executed when we needed to, and that was awesome for us. Taylor Drury made free throws down the stretch, and I thought her shot selection was excellent today. Sadie (Hill) got two quick fouls and had to sit the whole first half, but they didn't have an answer for her. She's getting her legs under her; it's been a long preseason with everything, but they found a way and I'm excited for them to get this win."

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will take the next two weeks to prepare for their next game, taking the road again to Springfield, Ill., to face off against Illinois Springfield on Dec. 18.
