Hounds Streak to Second Straight Win

QUINCY, Ill. - The UIndy women's basketball team (2-3, 2-3 GLVC) earned their second straight win of the season on Wednesday night, taking down Quincy (0-6, 0-6) on a final score of 75-67. Senior Taylor Drury led the Greyhounds with 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers in the game out of six attempts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The second half provided two major runs that would be key factors in the final score. Trailing 11 points at the break, Quincy produced a 17-0 run to take their first lead with 4:33 left in the third quarter. In response, the Greyhounds' 13-0 surge would be the difference maker, as they retook the lead and held it the rest of the way.

The Hounds' dominance on the boards provided their biggest differential so far on the young season, out-rebounding the Hawks, 38-24. Lauren With and Mickey Sasson just missed a double-double, as With grabbed nine rebounds with her 13 points and Sasson had eight boards to go with a career-high 18 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting performance. Mya Scheidt would also grab a career high in rebounds, pulling down seven.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- UIndy shot at least 50 percent from the field for the third consecutive game.
- Sasson scored 12 of her career-best 18 points in the second half.
- Quincy committed just six turnovers but was limited to zero fast break points.

HOUND BYTES
Head coach Kristin Wodrich on the team's resilience late in the game...
"I'm extremely proud of the girls' poise down the stretch. They handled the pressure and made adjustments defensively that helped stop (Quincy's) run. Good road win for the Hounds."
