INDIANAPOLIS- In the first regular-season ranking of the year from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), both the UIndy men's and women's programs are in the top 10 nationally.
The UIndy women held their #4 ranking from the preseason edition of the poll, with the Top 10 teams nationally remaining unchanged. The #4 Greyhounds are currently 6-0 overall, 3-0 against Division II competition. All three of the UIndy wins at the DII level have come against ranked competition, in #17 Tusculum, #T20 Southwest Baptist and RV Grand Valley. Since playing the Hounds, Tusculum held at #17, SBU is now #19 and Grand Valley is now #T24.
UIndy's men jumped from a previous spot of #12 in the preseason rankings to #T10 in the first regular season edition of the poll. The Greyhounds are also undefeated on the young season, at 5-0, with two of their wins coming against NCAA Division II programs, with Grand Valley receiving votes in this edition of the national poll.
Both UIndy teams are back in action this weekend, with the men hosting Ferris State Friday afternoon and the women hosting DI Bowling Green Sunday afternoon. Both matches will be played at the UIndy Tennis Center, with both matches starting at 4 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
