INDIANAPOLIS- The #4 Greyhound women's tennis team took a 6-1 win over IUPUI Wednesday to push its record to 3-0 on the young season.
UIndy swept the doubles matches, allowing the Jaguars just four games over the three matches.
Alina Kislitskaya and
Maria Solnyshkina were the first off the doubles courts, taking a 6-0 win in the two position. The one doubles duo of
Nikol Alekseeva and
Anna Novikova was next to finish, clinching the doubles point with a 6-1 win.
Anna Valiaeva and
Lizaveta Demchenko closed out the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win at three doubles.
Alekseeva continued her shutout day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at one singles, with Valiaeva the next off with a 6-0, 6-1 win at five singles to put the Hounds up 3-0. Kislitskaya put up the match-winning point with a 6-3, 6-0 win at three singles.
Novikova took a 6-4, 6-1 win at two singles for the fifth UIndy point, with the Jaguars taking their lone point of the match with a three-set win at four singles. Demchenko then closed the match with a Greyhound win, taking a three-set, comeback thriller that featured a tiebreak in the second set, 4-6, 7-6(7-3), 10-8.
UIndy takes to the UIndy Tennis Center courts again Saturday, hosting Grand Valley State in a regional match up beginning at 4 p.m.
