#12 Greyhounds Take Down Butler on the Road

INDIANAPOLIS – After beating Division II-rival Grand Valley at home on Saturday, the 12th-ranked UIndy men's tennis team traveled across town to DI Butler University Sunday. The Greyhounds took down in the Bulldogs in convincing fashion by a final score of 6-1.

The Hounds got on the board first by securing the doubles point. Dario Huber and Renato Lima, the No. 1-ranked doubles pair in Division II, swept their matchup versus Thomas Brenen and Olof Wiklund, 6-0. The freshman duo of Nikolaj Talimaa and Dominik Koenig followed with a 6-4 win in the No. 3 doubles, leaving the No. 2 flight unfinished.

UIndy went on to win five of the six singles matches. No. 12-ranked Lima was the first to finish, taking down Butler No. 3 Drew Michael 6-4, 6-3. Talimaa's long first set followed up with a quick second set to take the point in the No. 4 flight 7-5, 6-3. The third match to finish up belonged to Huber, as DII's No. 8 singles player claimed a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Brenen, Butler's No. 1.

Freshman and German-import Tom Zeuch earned the Hounds' only three-set win, earning a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (8) win versus Filip Tensing in the No. 4 flight. Freshman Jason Gerweck secured the sixth and final point for the Hounds with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win in the No. 6 matchup against Ryan Roegner. Meanwhile, Koenig fell just short of a singles win, falling 3-6, 6-3, 5-10 in a tight match against Wiklund.
