WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The No. 16 UIndy softball team (9-4) kicked off its annual Spring Break trip to Florida Friday, dropping a 8-0 final to Minnesota State before topping Concord, 5-2. Both contests took place at THE Spring Games in Central Florida, one of the biggest softball events in the country.

The Greyhounds ran into a hot pitcher in the opener, as MSU's Mackenzie Ward tossed her second career no-hitter, striking out 10 while walking four.

Gianni Iannantone earned two of the aforementioned walks, while
Lexy Rees and
Sydnie Foster also garnered free passes. Starter
Hallie Waters (5-2) took the loss, lasting three-plus innings.

GAME 2 | UIndy 5, Concord 2
The Hounds bounced back with six hits in game two, including RBI doubles from
Emily O'Connor and S. Foster. Both players finished with two hits apiece, with O'Connor earning three RBIs. Meanwhile,
Brooke Montgomery added a single, a walk and two runs.

Lauren Honkomp gave up two runs in five innings to up her record to 3-1 on the season.
Haylie Foster tossed the final two frames to notch her first save of the season.
