UIndy Student-Athletes Find Success in the Classroom

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis athletic department announced Monday that its 600-plus student-athletes combined for an impressive 3.52 grade point average for the 2020 spring semester.

All 21 of UIndy's athletic programs* posted a semester GPA of 3.0 or better, with 15 squads – including all 10 women's programs – finishing above 3.5. The men's tennis team led the way with a stellar 3.854 spring GPA, followed closely by women's tennis at 3.822 and a slew of teams in the 3.7 range.

"UIndy student-athletes understand their academics are a top priority," said UIndy Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Sue Willey.  "It is very rewarding to see them excel in the classroom as well as in their respective sports."

All teams managed a GPA north of 3.0 in the fall as well, bringing the department's cumulative GPA for the 2019-20 academic year to 3.41.
