INDIANAPOLIS- The 2021 edition of UIndy wrestling was chosen to finish third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, in the annual Preseason Poll of the league's coaches announced Wednesday morning by the conference office.
The Greyhounds, who are currently ranked #11 in the NWCA Division II Coaches rankings, amassed 24 points to take third behind reigning GLVC champion McKendree in first place (34 points) and Lindenwood (33 points). Maryville is in the fourth-place spot in the poll with 23 points, with Drury, Davenport and Ouachita Baptist rounding out the preseason rankings of the coaches.
UIndy finished fourth in the GLVC a season ago, with the league's conference title awarded to the team with the best record in duals against GLVC opponents. The Greyhounds open their 2021 schedule with a pair of GLVC duals at Ouachita Baptist Sunday, with UIndy facing off with Drury and the host Tigers.
