NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Indianapolis swimming & diving programs have swept the top of the leaderboards in the preseason edition of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division II Top 25 Poll, officials released on Thursday.
Â
The top ranking in the poll comes after both sides dominated at the highly competitive UIndy Invite back on Oct. 9 and 10. The invite featured five of the most dominate programs in the NCAA D-II, and the Hounds had little trouble as the women's team won by 100.5 points and the men's team claimed victory by 158 points.
Â
UIndy is joined by a handful of company from the Great Lakes Valley Conference on both sides. On the women's side, Lindenwood (No. 5), Drury (No. 8), Truman (No. 20) , and McKendree (No. 24) all earned a spot in the rankings. Over in the men's poll, Lindenwood (No. 3), McKendree (No. 4), Drury (No. 7), Missouri S&T (No. 15), Lewis (No. 24), and Missouri-St. Louis (receiving votes) all earned recognition.
Â
With the new preseason No. 1 ranking in control, the Greyhounds are gearing up for a meet tomorrow afternoon against a D-I opponent in the Cincinnati Bearcats. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
