ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the first time this season, the University of Indianapolis men's soccer team tasted defeat in a match. The Hounds fell 3-2 on the road against No. 10 Maryville, ending the longest winning streak in school history at 12-straight matches. UIndy finishes the regular season with a 12-1-2 overall record and will prepare for postseason play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Everything was looking bright for the No. 1-ranked Greyhounds, who received a goal in just the sixth minute of action off the foot of
Alejandro Steinwascher, his team-leading 11th of the season. However, the Saints produced the equalizer in the 36th minute as play shifted towards the half.
Both teams returned to the pitch out of the locker room and battled each other tough before Maryville collected the lead with a goal in the 61st minute. Not to be denied, UIndy tied the match back up with a shot into the back of the net by
Makel Rasheed that was assisted by
Jakob David. However, the Saints dropped in the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to walk off their home field with a victory.

-UIndy tallied 17 total shots while Maryville had just nine.
-In total, each team produced four corner kicks and two yellow cards.
-Steinwascher notched a team-leading four total shots while Rasheed and
Michael Tselios each had three.
