INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis swimming & diving teams will take the pool this weekend for one of the most highly competitive regular season meets in program history. The UIndy Invite is slated to bring together five NCAA Division II national powerhouses for top notch action from start to stop.
Competing this weekend will be UIndy, Grand Valley State, Lindenwood, Nova Southeastern, and Wingate. All five programs dominated on both sides last season at the NCAA DII Championships held in Birmingham, Alabama.Â
Taking a look back at the DII Championships last season, UIndy corralled the best finish of any program competing this weekend by adding a third place finish on both the men's and women's side. Lindenwood, a fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference member, trailed right behind with the women's team notching fourth and the men fifth. Wingate managed a sixth place finish for its women's program while the men's squad rolled out in seventh. Grand Valley State also stayed in the top ten for both of its programs with the women's team ending in fifth and the men in eighth. Finally, Nova Southeastern tallied an eighth place finish for its women's program while the men's team ended in 14th.
On the swimming side, competition is set to take place at Center Grove High School all weekend long. Action begins on Saturday with session one at 3 p.m. followed by session two kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Sunday is slated to have one single session beginning at noon.
Over on the diving side, all the student-athletes will compete on the UIndy campus at the Ruth Lilly Center Pool. Saturday will begin with the women's 1M at 3:30 p.m. followed by the men's 3M at 6:15 p.m. Sunday is scheduled to begin with the women's 3M at 9:30 a.m. while the men conclude with the 1M at 12:15 p.m.
Live video of both swimming and diving events will be available through the
