KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The UIndy football team capped its 2021 regular season in exciting fashion Saturday, engineering a 13-10 comeback win at Truman State University. The Greyhounds scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, including a game-winning 40-yard field goal from
Paul Buisman with 19 seconds left. The victory over the eight-win Bulldogs secured the Hounds the runner-up spot in the final Great Lakes Valley Conference standings.

INS & OUTS
UIndy got things going following intermission, especially in the fourth quarter. Trailing 10-3, the Greyhound defense forced and recovered a Truman fumble on the very first play of the final period, giving a short field to the offense.
Â
The latter group responded with a quick scoring drive, featuring a 23-yard reception by
Jon Eineman and a nine-yard rushing touchdown by
JaQuan Buchanan to tie it up.
Â
With the score still knotted at 10 with under four minutes to play, Truman got off a booming 65-yard punt to pin the Hounds at the nine-yard line. They were up to the task, however, methodically marching down the field to position themselves for the win.
Â
The drive ultimately spanned 14 plays and consumed nearly all of the remaining time. Snap No. 14 started on the left hash of the 23-yard line and ended with Buisman splitting the uprights for what proved the game-winning score.
Â
UIndy possessed the ball for more than 10 minutes in the fourth quarter, racking up 141 yards in the period while limiting Truman to just 33.
