INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball team closed out opening weekend with a Midwest region loss to GLIAC-foe Grand Valley State on Sunday afternoon.  Jesse Bingham scored 15 points off the bench and was one of four Greyhounds in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers sprinted out to an 8-0 lead before Kendrick Tchoua put the Hounds on the board with a lay up.  Midway thru the first half Grand Valley held an 18-point lead before a 14-6 run from the Hounds cut their deficit to ten.  Grand Valley took a 39-25 lead to the break behind a 55.6 shooting percentage.

UIndy trailed by as much as 24 points in the second half.  Tchoua notched another lay up at the four minute mark to pull the Hounds within 14 but the comeback bid was too little too late as Grand Valley pulled away once again for the 77-60 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bingham paced the Hounds with 15 points followed by Aaron Etherington (13), Cory Miller Jr. (12) and Kendrick Tchoua (10).
- Bingham finished with a team-high seven rebounds, five of which were defensive, while also swatting a pair of blocks.
- Dee Montgomery recorded a team-best three steals.
- The Hounds committed 11 turnovers to Grand Valley's 16.  UIndy scored 19 points off turnovers.
