INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team signed two members to the Class of 2022 this weekend as announced by head coach Paul Corsaro today. Sean Craig and Shon Tupuola will join the Greyhound family for the 2022-23 season.
"Signing two student-athletes of this caliber is huge for our program, especially to do so in the early signing period," commented Corsaro. "Both Sean and Shon come from well-respected, winning programs. They will provide our program with length, and they are both tremendous rebounders. Adding to our length and height, as well as increasing our production from a rebounding standpoint, is a focal point for our program."
Sean Craig hails from Sylvania, Ohio where he has racked up a 59-16 record at Sylvania Northview High School. A two-time
All-Ohio selection, he is also a two-time OPSWA Player of the Year and a District 7 Player of the Year. Craig averaged over 20 points and 11 rebounds per game in both his junior and senior season en route to a pair of sectional titles.
"Greyhounds fans will see a versatile playmaker in Sean Craig. Standing at 6'7'', he is capable of playing all five positions on the floor," noted Corsaro. "Sean is an elite passer and can score the ball at every level. Sean is a winner and a great student."
Craig is the son of Tim Craig and Lori Cassavore. He was one brother, Cam, and plans to study business management.
A native of nearby Brownsburg, Ind., Shon Tupuola has guided the Bulldogs to a 50-20 record over the last three seasons. Standing at 6'9'', Tupuola has a pair of sectional title game appearances under his belt. He's currently boasts a career average of 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds at Brownsburg High School.
"Shon has such an incredible upside. He is already a defensive force in terms of the way he blocks shots, guards one on one, and rebounds the ball," said Corsaro. "As Shon's offensive skill set continues to develop, he is going to be a dominant force down low for us. We are excited about his potential!"
Shon in the son of Silipa and Trina Tupoula. He has three siblings Tony, Tana and Masi. He plans to study mechanical engineering.
