INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team is back at .500 after a 90-41 win over Ohio Valley on Tuesday night. Four Hounds posted double figures in the non-conference victory.
The 49-point victory marks the largest margin of victory under head coach Paul Corsaro. Its UIndy's largest win since December 7, 2013 when the Hounds topped IU Northwest 109-39 inside Nicoson Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jesse Bingham scored the first eight points of the game as the Hounds went on to lead for all 40 minutes of play. A 3-pointer from Cory Miller Jr. put UIndy ahead by 10 and also spark a 9-0 run from the Hounds for their largest run of the game. The Hounds took a 44-18 lead to the break, marking the second-lowest points they've allowed scored since Illinois Springfield scored 16 in January 2021.
The second half saw the Hounds shoot 56.7% from the floor on 17-for-30 shooting. Kendrick Tchoua and Sean Peeters both scored 10 points in the second half alone. UIndy scored 24 points in the paint to Ohio Valley's 16.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kendrick Tchoua posted a team-best 18 points and 8 rebounds.
- Sean Peeters had a stellar game off the bench, scoring 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting. He grabbed five rebounds and four steals while dishing out three assists.
- Jesse Bingham and Cory Miller Jr. also finished in double figures with 12 and 11 respectively.
- The Hounds forced 21 Fighting Scot turnovers while committing 11 themselves.
- UIndy won the board battle, 47 to 34.
