INDIANAPOLIS – A career-best performance from Aaron Etherington led the University of Indianapolis men's basketball team to their fourth straight win on Friday afternoon. The Hounds scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back in a 105-61 win over East West University in their final non-conference game of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dee Montgomery started the scoring off with a corner three on the assist from Etherington. The Hounds went on to score the first 14 points of the game before the Phantoms got on the board. UIndy took a 59-18 lead to the locker room, marking the most points they've scored in a half this season and the largest lead they've taken to the break.
Etherington shot 4-for-5 from three in the first half alone. The Fishers, IN native went on to finish with a career-high 26 points along with 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal.
UIndy's 105 points is the first time they've eclipsed the century mark under head coach Paul Corsaro and the most points they've put up in a single game this season. The Hounds hadn't scored 100 points since November 2019 when they scored 112 against Spring Hill.
SEEING DOUBLE
For the second time in three games, six Hounds reached double figures in scoring in Etheringon (26), Jesse Bingham (14), Jakobie Robinson (14), Kendrick Tchoua (12), Ben Nicoson (11) and Josiah Tynes (10). Prior to happening against St. Mary of the Woods, the feat hadn't happened in 107 games dating back to Jan. 4, 2018. In all 11 games this year at least three Hounds have reach double figures.Â
