Hounds Pick Up Second GLVC Win of Opening Week

INDIANAPOLIS – In a wire-to-wire GLVC match up, the University of Indianapolis men's basketball team hailed victorious over Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon.  The Hounds trailed by five at halftime but fought back for a 63-59 victory inside Nicoson Hall.

With a 2-1 week the Hounds improve to 5-3 overall and sit at 2-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Prairie Stars led by six early in the second half until the Hounds tabbed a 9-0 run and held UIS scoreless for nearly three minutes of play.  Illinois Springfield regained a four-point lead until a fast break lay up from Kendrick Tchoua and a pair of three's from Cory Miller Jr. put the Hounds on top once and for all.

UIS threatened late, tying the game at 53 with 3:03 remaining but Tchoua put momentum on UIndy's side with a three-point play.  Dee Montgomery and Jesse Bingham both sunk a pair of free throws in the final minute to seal the win.
