Former Greyhound Standouts Honored by Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

NEW CASTLE, Ind. – Former UIndy men's basketball players Chris DesJean, Andy Foster and Cedric Moodie have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2022 Silver Anniversary Team, announced Tuesday. The former Greyhound standouts were three of 18 individuals honored by the Hall for their outstanding accomplishments as a high school senior basketball player 25 years ago, highlighting the best of state's 1997 graduating class.
 
The 2022 Men's Silver Anniversary Team members will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 60th Men's Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, while a midday reception—free to the public—will be held at the Hall of Fame museum in New Castle. The evening banquet will take place at the Primo Banquet Hall, located on the south side nearby the UIndy campus.
 
 
FROM THE HALL…
Chris DesJean, Franklin Central HS
1997 Indiana All-Star, 1997 Marion County Player of the Year, Bloomington Herald-Times 2nd team all-state, IBCA 3rd team all-state, Indianapolis News 3rd team all-state and AP high honorable mention all-state after averaging 17.2 points for 22-3 conference championship team.  Earned all-conference three year and a two-time all-county selection, leading teams to 62-10 record including three conference titles and 1996 24-2 sectional championship team.  Career totals of 937 points and 476 rebounds.  Played four seasons at the University of Indianapolis, averaging career bests of 8.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a senior.  Earned academic all-conference honors for four years. Employed with Wells Fargo Bank since 2001, he is a senior vice president and resides in Indianapolis
 
Andy Foster, Frankfort HS
IBCA 2nd team all-state, Bloomington Herald-Times 2nd team all-state, Indianapolis News 3rd team all-state, set the Frankfort career scoring record of 1,612 points, was Lafayette Journal & Courier Player of the Year and Sagamore Conference Player of the Year after averaging 23.8 points for 18-6 sectional champions.  He was a 1996 Indiana Junior All-Star, 1996 1st team IBCA underclass all-state after averaging 22.3 points for 18-5 sectional champs.  He earned three-year all-conference and all-regional honors on teams that were 79-19, winning four Sagamore Conference championships and four sectional titles.  He played at the University of Indianapolis, racking up 1,778 career points to sit fifth all-time at the school. He resides in Whitestown.

Cedric Moodie, South Bend Washington
1997 Indiana All-Star, Bloomington Herald-Times 1st team all-state, 1996 and 1997 AP high honorable mention all-state and IBCA honorable mention all-state after averaging 26.4 points for sectional champions. Set school records of 1,607 career points and 649 points in one season, earning three-time all-NIC honors, including 1997 NIC Player of the Year. Played two seasons at Ball State, averaging 10.2 points as a sophomore on their MAC championship team. Played one season at the University of Indianapolis, averaging 10.3 points as a senior. Played professionally from 2002-2014, including the USBL, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters, in Canada and Argentina. He is a basketball trainer in South Bend.
