INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy student-athletes from multiple programs received word recently of schedule alterations for this coming weekend, with both the UIndy basketball teams and softball program affected. Heavy snowfall in the region pushed back the softball season opener, while COVID concerns intervened with basketball plans.
 
The Greyhound softball squad was set to open the 2021 campaign in Owensboro, Ky., this weekend with a doubleheader versus Kentucky Wesleyan College, but the recent winter storm has all but made play impossible through much of the Midwest. The Hounds will hope to travel to Owensboro to following weekend – Feb. 27-28 – for four games at the Blue Ridge Classic.
 
Meanwhile, the men's basketball program will not be making its planned trip to Springfield, Mo., Thursday for a matchup with Drury, as the Panther program is dealing with safety concerns due to COVID-19.
 
The Greyhound women's basketball team will also not be traveling to Drury due to safety protocols triggered within its own ranks. Potential make-up dates and other updates will be announced at UIndyAthletics.com.
