INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis sophomore Tom Zeuch and junior Nikol Alekseeva have respectively been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men's and women's tennis, it was announced by the league office Tuesday. 

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Major: Sport Management
Team Results: 6-1 W vs. Southwest Baptist (2/21)

• Won both singles and doubles matches at No. 2 position to help UIndy beat GLVC-foe SBU
• Won a tight match in doubles over Adham Gaber and Youssef Nabil, 7-6 (7-4), with partner Jason Gerweck
• Followed with a 6-3, 7-6 win against Alvaro Nunez in singles
• Earns first career Player of the Week award
• Last Greyhounds Player of the Week: Renato Lima (2/25/20)

 
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nikol Alekseeva, Jr.
Moscow, Russia
Major: Business Administration & Management/Marketing
Team Results: 5-2 W vs. Butler (2/17) | 6-1 W vs. Southwest Baptist (2/21)

• Helped UIndy to two wins, beating Division I Butler and GLVC foe SBU
• Dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win over Butler's Natalie Boesing at No. 1 singles
• Defeated SBU's Dona Abohabaga at No. 1 singles 6-1, 7-5
• Played with Anna Novikova at No. 1 doubles, shutting out Butler's Boesing and Sarah Monesmith 6-0
• Won 6-4 with Novikova against SBU's Abohabaga and Constance Crespo
• Has yet to lose a set this season in either singles or doubles action
• Earns third career Player of the Week award (2/23/21, 2/18/19, 4/2/19)
