INDIANAPOLIS – Coming off a win against Division I IUPUI just 24 hours ago, the No. 4 UIndy women's tennis team made a statement Saturday in the UIndy Tennis Center, sweeping 19th-ranked Grand Valley State, 7-0, without dropping a single set.

The Hounds kicked off competition at 12:30 p.m. with doubles action being close but all in the Hounds favor. Seniors
Alina Kislitskaya and
Kristina Lagoda wrapped up first, taking down their Laker opponents, 6-4. Juniors
Nikol Alekseeva and
Anna Novikova finished next with a 6-4 victory securing the doubles point for the Hounds. Finally junior
Maria Solnyshkina and sophomore
Sofia Sharonova concluded doubles with a 6-3 win.

As singles started, it was all Hounds as they took all six matches in straight sets. Alekseeva put on another dominant performance in the No. 1-singles spot with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Finishing next was Kislitskaya at No. 3, who took down Masily Canellopoula 6-2 6-4.

Next up was Novikova, earning her second win of the season by a score of 6-4, 6-2. She was followed by Solnyshkina, who picked up her first singles win of 2021 by a final of 6-2, 6-2.

Continuing the Hounds dominance, Sharonova took the first set 6-3 before shutting out the Lakers' Vasileia Griva 6-0. Wrapping up singles and securing the sweep was Lagoda who did it in convincing fashion, winning two 6-2 sets.

UP NEXT
The Hounds have a bit of a break before their next matchup. They will be back in own their own courts on the 17th where they will take on the Division I Butler Bulldogs.
